Carol Louise Nelson 78 of Madisonville, KY formerly of Albion , Mi passed away February 13, 2026 after a short battle with ALS, under the loving care of her family and hospice. She married Clarence Richard Nelson April 5th, 1969 and is survived by their children, Richard (Betsy) Nelson of Albion, Tressa (Scott) Tausz of Eaton Rapids, Tren Garfield of Concord , Tonya (Daryl) Mosher of Homer; step-daughters, Tammy Hiuff of Marshall, and Tina Hopkins of Homer; 18 grandchildren and several great-grand children; brothers, Richard (Laura) Irons of Texas and Gary (Sue) Irons of Charlotte; 2 nieces; bonus Kentucky family, Mary Ann, Dick, Joran, Hanna, Tatum, Preslee, Jared, Carrie, Ava, Everett, Allison, Troy, and Jenny

She is preceded in death by her parents, Norm and Elenor Irons; husband, Clarence Richard Nelson; step-daughter, Tracy Nelson; and aunt, Alice Harmon.

Carol graduated from Springport High School in 1967.

She was all about her love of flowers and plants and worked at Anna's House of Flowers for many years, then traveled extensively with Kmart before making her home in Madisonville, KY, where in 2002, she followed her passion once again and began working at Exotic Florist for 20 years, retiring in November 2025 due to her illness.

Carol's celebration of life will be held at Reclamation Church 1014 Maple Street, Albion, MI Saturday February 28th at 2:00pm. A second celebration of life will be held June 27th in Madisonville, KY with a time to be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers envelopes will be available at each celebration of life to donate to the ALS Chapter of Louisville, KY.
