Carol Neumayer Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 12, 2025.
Carol Ann (Weiger) Neumayer, age 73, passed away on September 18, 2025. Carol was born in Reading, PA and grew up in Bucks County, PA. Carol graduated from Neshaminy High School, in Langhorne, PA, in 1969. She graduated with honors from Pennsylvania State University in 1973, where she majored in Elementary Education. In 1973, Carol married her college sweetheart, Paul Neumayer. They had two children, Matthew (who predeceased Carol) and Carrie, who lives in Washington, DC. Carol received her Master's Degree in Reading Education from Johns Hopkins University.

Carol spent her entire working career with Baltimore County Public Schools, where she taught elementary school before becoming an Assistant Principal. She served on several curriculum and textbook committees, was the TABCO representative, and served on the Baltimore County School Board Nominating Committee. Carol also served on the Mission Committee at Hunt's Memorial United Methodist Church, and was a Middle High counselor there.

Carol enjoyed the beach, and loved spending time at their second home in Hilton Head and later the Delaware shore. A lover of sports (especially Duke basketball), books, and games, Carol's kindness, incredible listening skills, sense of humor, and gift of friendship will be missed by all who knew her.

Carol is survived by Paul, her husband of 52 years, her daughter Carrie, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Robin Edwards. Donations may be made in her memory to Hunt's Memorial United Methodist Church or the National Education Association (NEA) Foundation. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
