Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A. - Cumberland on Nov. 15, 2025.
Paul Edward Kline, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, under the care of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, leaving behind a legacy of love, integrity, and kindness that will be cherished forever by all who knew him. Born on May 15, 1943, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Paul was the son of the late Wilbur and Ethel (Nichols) Kline. Paul and his beloved wife, Jo Ellen, shared 56 wonderful years devoted to each other.
Paul leaves behind his loving wife, Jo Ellen (Lancaster) Kline; his children, Edward (Darjiana) Kline, Amy Terrones, and James Kline; and his adored grandchildren, Steven, Josip, and Anthony Kline, and Madeline and Arthur Terrones. He also leaves cherished memories with his sister, Kathleen Witmer, and with many cousins, nieces, and nephews who each held a special place in his heart.
Paul joins in eternal rest with his parents and siblings, Gladys Smith, Ray Kline, and Melvin Kline. His family takes comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with those he loved who went before him.
A graduate of Penn State University, Paul earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and embarked on a distinguished 38-year career with PPG Industries. Beginning as a Management Trainee in June 1967, he excelled in pivotal roles across several locations, including
Cumberland, MD; Pittsburgh, PA; Wichita Falls, TX; Mt. Zion, IL; and Greensboro, NC. His significant contributions to the Flat Glass group-particularly the development and installation of the SPG scheduling system-were matched only by his dedication and expertise. He later joined the Industrial Coatings group before retiring in June 2005.
Paul's devotion to his family and friends reflected the same dedication and integrity he brought to his professional life. He was a man of unwavering principles who passed his values of hard work, kindness, and compassion to his children and grandchildren. Always ready to lend a helping hand, Paul's thoughtful nature and genuine care for others made him a pillar of support in every community he touched.
Paul treasured beach trips with his family, enjoyed golfing with his nephews, and loved traveling with close friends. A lifelong Dodgers fan, he found great joy in witnessing the team's triumphant World Series win. Though he is missed dearly, Paul's spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A memorial service celebrating Paul's life will be held on Saturday, November 29th. Family and friends are invited to gather at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue,
Cumberland, MD 21502, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Saint Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery on Monday, December 1st.
