Carol Olson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Falconer Funeral Home, Inc. - Falconer on Jan. 13, 2026.
Carol A. Olson, 82, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing. A lifelong resident of the Jamestown area, Carol was born on May 21, 1943, the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Scavone) Scholeno. She was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High School. Following high school, Carol began her working life at Landy Drug and later Revco Drug Store. She spent many years serving her community through her work in pharmacy and, prior to her retirement, was employed by CVS Pharmacy. Carol was known for her strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet kindness toward those she served. Above all else, Carol was devoted to her family. She always put others before herself and faced life's challenges with strength, resilience, and grace - never complaining, even while battling various illnesses over the years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, a caring and steadfast mother, a proud and doting grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Carol found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, playing cards, shopping, playing games on her computer, and caring for her beloved pets - her cat Sophie and dogs, Missy, Cinder, Hannah, and Cleo. She is survived by her husband of over 63 years, David C. Olson, whom she married on September 8, 1962; her son, Steven (Jennifer) Olson of Mesa, AZ; her daughter, Susan (Rick) Dorman of Jamestown; three grandchildren, Miranda Olson, Conner Olson, and Jace Olson; and her sister, Joann Camarata of Jamestown. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her two sons, Timothy J. Olson and David R. Olson. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, NY 14701.
