Carol J. Polifka, age 80, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport. She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald M. Polifka. Carol was born in Bridgeport on June 23, 1943, daughter of the late Stephen and Anna (Konecny) Kochiss, and she lived in Shelton for a majority of her life.
She loved watching all the activity on the Housatonic from her window and enjoyed feeding the birds and ducks. Carol was devoted to raising her family, and what she loved most was spending time with them.
She is the beloved mother of David Polifka and his wife Nicole and Dawn Shuby, proud grandmother of Jessie and Veronica Shuby and step-grandmother Ashley Orazietti. She is also survived by her sister Barbara Lavery, brother Ed Kochiss and his wife Elizabeth, and several nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Stephen Kochiss, and two sisters, Anna Mae Dash and Florence Witalis.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, is entrusted with the funeral arrangements, which are private.
Contributions are requested in Carol's memory to the Friends of Shelton Animal Shelter, 11 Brewster Lane, Shelton, CT 06484.
