Eugene C. Valinsky

Eugene C. Valinsky, age 78, of Waterbury, entered into rest on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Waterbury Hospital. He is the beloved husband of 58 years of Teresa (Genga) Valinsky. Eugene was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on November 9, 1946, son of the late John and Rose (Yackosevich) Valinksky. He lived in Waterbury for the past twenty years.
Eugene proudly served his country with the United States Navy for twenty years. After leaving the Navy, he worked as a Department Manager at Stop & Shop until his retirement. Eugene was an avid reader of Tom Clancy novels and was a military historian. He enjoyed his daily visits to the Y for exercise. He loved traveling with his wife in his retirement years and enjoyed working on antique cars.
He is the beloved father of Craig Valinsky and his wife Maria and Jeannie Valinsky and her partner Wilson Apollo, and the proud grandfather of Matthew Valinsky and his wife Martha and Joshua Valinsky. He is also survived by his brother, John Valinsky, and several nieces and nephews. Eugene was predeceased by his great grandson Mateo Ismael Valinsky Morales and his sister Maryanne Brickett.
The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby, has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, 212 Elizabeth Street, Derby, on Monday, August 18th, at 11 AM. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
