James Donato Obituary

He was the devoted husband of the late Ann. M. (Borzelli) Donato. James was born in Derby on August 24, 1944 son of the late Joseph and Mary (Salzano) Donato and was an Oxford resident for most of his life. He was a contractor for many years until his retirement.
James enjoyed golfing, making model cars, playing cards, dominos and deep sea fishing. He also enjoyed going to live music events and traveling. James loved motorcycles and going to bike week. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and maintaining his lifetime friends from high school.
James was the beloved father of Deanna Cram, Cindy Donato, and Steven (Becky) Donato, loving grandfather of Jarret (Natalie) Cram, Grady Cram, Tobey Cram, Tyler Mei, Tucker Donato, and Jax Donato and brother of Tina Coppola.
On Thursday, August 14, 2025, friends may call from 9:00 - 10:30 AM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 AM for his Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Church. His burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
