MILLERSBURG - Carol M. Reed, 84, of Millersburg, PA died June 28, 2025, at Northern Dauphin Nursing Home.
She was born on July 2, 1940, in Lenkerville, the daughter of the late Floyd C. and Eva A. (Frantz) Maiden, and step-mother Catherine (Reed) Maiden, and step-father Mark F. Webert.
On June 28, 1959, Carol married William T. (Bill) Reed and enjoyed 60 years together.
Carol was a 1958 graduate of Millersburg High School, after which she finished cosmetology school and worked as a beautician as well as a waitress at the former Nelson's Restaurant, Millersburg.
In the community, she will best be remembered as the co-owner of the J.C. Penny Store, Millersburg, and having worked with the Montgomery Ward Catalog.
Carol was a member of Hebron U.M. Church, Millersburg, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School, a former Girl Scout leader and den mother, former president of the Mother's Club, USCG Auxillary, spending 10 years as secretary, and was honored with the Public Affairs Officer of the Year. She enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels, attending card club, going on cruises, the Cedars Cheerette Club, and spending time with the Lunch Bunch. She and her husband enjoyed 23 years at Gulls Way Campground in Delaware.
She is survived by her sons Thomas and Timothy Reed, both of Millersburg, brother Terry L. Maiden and his wife Darhla, nieces Marsha and Hope, and nephews David, Todd, and Michael, and a brother-in-law, Gary Ackerman.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Ackerman.
There will be a Memorial Service at Hebron U.M. Church, Millersburg at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, with fellowship to follow the service.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to Hebron U.M. Church, 347 Market St, Millersburg, PA 17061 or the Millersburg Area Ambulance Association, 380 Berrysburg Rd, Millersburg, PA 17061.
