Carol Silvio, age 75, of Pittsburgh, died on Monday, July 1, 2024, at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Born February 22, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA she was the daughter of Frank and the late Helen (Pendergast) Goliwas and the wife of the late Andy Bowden.
Carol's dedication to health services and unwavering commitment to caring for others was the cornerstone of her life's work, touching countless hearts through her kindness and compassion. Carol found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed fishing at her favorite camp, basking in the serenity of nature. Carol's love for excitement shone through in spirited games of bingo and the lively atmosphere of cash bashes. As a reader, she cherished the worlds and stories unveiled through the pages of books. Carol also delighted in the thrill of shopping on QVC, a pastime that brought her much joy.
Carol is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jeff) Hanford, Evelyn (Jamie) Baldwin and Andrew Bowden; grandchildren, David Guentner, Chuck (Haley) Bianco, Kandi and Benjamin Miller, Joseph, Domonick and Shane Bolin; great grandchildren, Jaxon and Bentley Bolin; siblings, James (Janice) Goilwas, Donna Goliwas, and Michael (Debbie) Goliwas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Miller-Guentner.
A special thanks to Brian Anderson, her nephew and her partner in crime. He kept her laughing, chauffeured her around and did anything for her. They both caused lots of trouble and she loved spending time with him.
The celebration of life will be held at her daughter Jennifer's home, on Sunday July 28, 2024 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
