Carol Tate, 81, of Aurora, IL, passed away on November 14, 2025. She was born January 6, 1944 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Chicago, to the late Al and Helen (Bannon) Bruckner.
As a young girl, Carol accepted Christ as her savior at Elmwood Park Bible Church. She was raised in Franklin Park, IL and attended East Leyden High School. After high school, Carol worked at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in the x-ray department as a clerk typist, before meeting her husband Robert. She was married at Elmwood Park Bible Church on September 3, 1966 by Rev. Robert Swanson. They were married for 45 years. They moved to Aurora, IL in 1969 and that is where they raised their two sons. Carol worked in private home care for over 20 years, taking care of people in their private homes. She enjoyed helping those who needed help and always enjoyed spending time with all those she cared for.
Carol is survived by her two sons, Mark (Peggy) of Yorkville, IL, and Jason (Misty) of Blackstone, IL; two grandchildren, Amanda and Zachary; cousins, Cathy and Janice, and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Bill "Butch" Woods and Bob (Gail) Bruckner.
As requested by Carol, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wayside Cross Missions, in Aurora, IL
