Carol A. Thedorff, age 61, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Huron Regional Medical Center. A memorial service in honor of Carol will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Welter Funeral Home. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Carol Ann Thedorff was born on December 21, 1963, in Huron, SD, to parents Clifford and Rose Roth. She graduated from Huron High School and then completed the Court Reporting program at Stenotype Institute of South Dakota. After spending half of her career as a free-lance court reporter, Carol spent the other half as a bookkeeper at Dalesburg Farm Supply. During the Covid pandemic, she worked at Avantara Huron, where her father was staying, so she could spend time with him during his last days.

When she was younger, Carol enjoyed competing on softball teams and spending time outdoors. Family snow skiing trips and camping/boating on the Missouri River were some of her favorite hobbies. Later in life, she found joy in the companionship of her dog, Jack. However, her greatest happiness came from time spent with her loved ones. Family get-togethers-especially spending time with her grandchildren-were among her most cherished moments.

What family and friends will remember the most about Carol is not only the wonderful memories they shared, but also her infectious laughter. Carol's perspective on life allowed her to see the humor in almost every situation, and her laugh could lift the spirits of everyone around her.

Grateful for having shared in her life are her sons, Tyler (Annie Staum) of Colorado and Jared Thedorff of Wyoming; her mother, Rose Roth of Huron; her grandchildren, Owen, Cole, and Clare Thedorff; her sister, Stacy (Bill) Bertera of Huron; her brothers Gaylen (Rebecca) and Darin Roth; and her beloved dog, Jack.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Roth, and sisters, Carla Roth and Cynthia York.
