Carol Owens Thompson, 64, was completely and divinely healed from her battle with ovarian cancer on Friday, July 15, 2022. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 17, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at 9:00 a.m. and interment will follow at Rose-Neath Cemetery in Bossier City, Louisiana. Services will be officiated by Pastor Randy Goudeau, Chaplain of Regional Hospice. Carol courageously battled cancer for over four and a half years.
Carol was born on July 29, 1957, to Allen and Elouise Owens. Carol married the love of her life, Charles Jeffrey "Jeff" Thompson in July 1975. Together, they were married 47 beautiful years in a love affair that would only be a dream to most.
Carol graduated from Woodlawn High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. She was a stay at home mom to her three boys, her most beloved job. Once she was done raising them, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. Carol's career as a teacher and her love for educating elementary students took her to Keithville Elementary, Claiborne Elementary, Southern Hills Elementary, and Blanchard Elementary. Throughout these years of teaching, Carol made many lifelong friendships.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Elouise and Allen Owens; sister, Myra Owens Cook; infant brother, Michael Wayne Owens; infant granddaughter, Maddie Jean Thompson; father-in-law, Bill Thompson and nephew Aaron Savoie. Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Charles Jeffrey "Jeff" Thompson; sons, J. Ryan Thompson and wife, Brandy, Trey Thompson and fiancée, Christy Johnson and Craig Thompson and wife, Emily; seven grandchildren, who lovingly called her Noni, Peyton Thompson, Caroline Thompson, Olivia Thompson, Mallory Thompson, JonRyan Thompson, Skylar Thompson and Layton Edmunds; brother, Anthony "Bubba" Owens and wife, D'Aunn; brother-in-law, Charles "Chuck" O. Cook III; mother-in-law, Dolly Thompson; brother-in-law, Brad Thompson and wife, Teresa; sisters-in-law, Sherry Tyson and Lisa Savoie and husband, Gerald, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins, who all absolutely adored Carol including her lifelong best friend, Mary Shows and beloved friends, Connie and Kent Eason.
Honoring Carol as pallbearers will be her nephews, Zach Savoie, Brent Tyson, Cody Owens, Austin Owens, Jason Riffle and Hayden Hensley.
Everyone who knew Carol, knew the love she had for the Lord, her family, the Christmas season, and their annual family beach vacation, a tradition for over 45 years. Carol lived a life of kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Carol loved gift giving, shopping, scrapbooking, Bunco, cooking, decorating, and entertaining family and friends in her home. You could always find her laughing or lighting up a room with her joyous spirit.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Richard Haynie, Dr. Scott Boniol, Dr. Bob Massingill, Dr. Orlando Padilla, Dr. Hector Brunet-Rodriquez, the staff at Christus Highland Hospital, Regional Hospice and Grace Home Hospice for their unending love and care for Carol. Thank you to the many family and friends who have been there for Carol and Jeff, especially the last four and a half years.

Prayers for the family for their loss of sweet Carol T. She was always so much fun in the Bunco group. We will miss her loving and fun personality. She is now healed and enjoying a better life with our Lord.
