Carol Uronis Obituary
Carol Lois (Samulis) Uronis of Plymouth passed away peacefully at her residence on June 12, 2024. She was 89 years old.
She was the devoted wife of 62 years of the late Richard Alexander Uronis. Carol was born July 19, 1934, and was raised in Avon, the only child of Joseph and Sophie (Costelow) Samulis. She attended Avon High School and was a telephone operator before marrying Richard.
When Carol and Richard got married on August 26, 1956, they lived in Brockton for a short time and began their family. Carol was a stay-at-home mother of two at the time. They then moved to East Bridgewater where they raised a total of four children. While raising the family, Carol occasionally worked part-time, one time at Coats Field in Brockton, but mostly did a wonderful job at raising and caring for the family.
She enjoyed coffee with the neighbors, bicycling, bowling, crafting, doing puzzles, drawing and painting. Richard and Carol then moved to South Yarmouth where they enjoyed Sunday drives, sitting by the ocean, and coffee at Honey Dew. More recently, Carol was living at Stafford Hill Assisted Living, and having a ball. She joined art classes, tended music events, and attended gatherings.
Carol is survived and will be sorely missed by her children and their families: daughters, Jayne Poshkus and her husband Arvidas of Marion, and Suzanne Martell of Whitman and her children Alicia and Robert and sons Richard J. Uronis and his wife Wendy of Bourne and their children Richard and Andrea, and William S. Uronis and his wife Sara of Hull.
Carol's family would like to extend their thanks to the staff and nurses at Stafford Hill Assisted Living for their kindness, consideration, and professionalism while assisting Carol at her residence.
All are cordially invited to a visitation on Tuesday June 18 from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 35 Spring St. East Bridgewater. A funeral home service will start at 11:00am and burial will follow at Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
