Carol Kaye Vannatter, 71 of Chapmanville, WV, departed this life on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.
She was born October 15, 1953, in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Smith Berry and Lizzie Sansom Lilly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Vannatter; sisters, Loraine Conley and Debra Hoy; brothers, Willis Conley, Robert Conley and Dallas Conley; paternal grandparents, Alfred Berry and Martha Janet Hicks; maternal grandparents, William Sansom and Dora Bell Dingess; and her dog, Bella.
Carol enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and church family, watching her soaps, world news, Yellowstone, and dancing with the stars.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Johnnie Vannatter; brother, Earl Alfred Berry; her cat, Max; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, July 11, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with John E. Godby officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memory Garden, Chapmanville, WV.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, WV, is in charge of the arrangements.
