Carol Rae Walter, 75, of Pleasant Plains passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at her
home surrounded by her family and beloved dogs. Carol was born June 24, 1950, in
Springfield, Illinois to the late Howard and Mary Willis-Lehmann. She attended Tallula
Elementary school and graduated from Harris High School (PORTA) in Petersburg,
Illinois in 1968. She enjoyed traveling and lived in Singapore for many years. It was
there she found the love of the local culture and implemented that into her cooking and
entertaining. Carol enjoyed a long and distinguished career in real estate as a Broker. In
later years, she was the President and owner of Lehmann Farms and had a true love of
her surrounding crops. She was always very close with her mother, Mary, and they
would travel to New Mexico and Florida in the harsh Illinois winters to enjoy some
sunshine. You would often see her outside planting new flowers and enjoying the tropics
as well as the springtime in Illinois. She also enjoyed golfing, baking, shopping and
decorating. Her favorite season was Christmas and on a minimum she would have 5 to
6 trees in her homes. She was an avid animal lover and had many pets throughout the
years. Her 3 Pomeranians (Teddy, Sami and Tasha) meant the world to her. Carol
enjoyed seeing her grandchildren's numerous events including several plays and
musicals. She adored all of her Florida friends and her lifelong best friend Susie and
could often be seen seeing a show, eating captain's chowder and going to the local
Punta Gorda farmers market. Carol led a very full life and will be missed by her friends
and family.
Surviving are her children Rebecca (Josh) Montgomery, Elizabeth (Eric) Rollins and her
grandchildren, Alexandra, Adelyn and Andersen Rollins. Carol also leaves behind
several special cousins.
