Carol Lynn Wheele, 84, died peacefully on Monday June 23, 2025 following a period of declining health due to dementia. She was born in Canton to Paul & Katherine Clauss. She graduated from Washington High School, class of 1958. Carol worked at First National Bank & Massillon City Schools in the cafeteria. Most importantly she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great grandma.
Carol married Bob Wheele in 1959. She was devoted to her faith. She began taking her sister & brother to Trinity United Methodist Church at the age of 10 years old. She continued her faith at First United Methodist Church where she was on many committees. Carol was a Girl Scout leader.
She was an avid reader, puzzler, loved to crochet and bake for her family & friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family & friends any chance she got. Surviving are her husband, Bob Wheele, with whom she would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on June 27; children Beth (Dave) Kitchen; Amy Wheele; Steve Wheele (Gena Hawkins); grandchildren Becca (Rob) Bender; Mitchell (Taylor) Paxton; Sarah Wheele; one great grandson, Sawyer. Siblings Sally (Fred) Walker; and Bill (Betsy) Clauss; cousins; nieces and nephews; many close friends. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Paul & Katherine (Graham) Clauss.
There will be a memorial service Saturday, June 28 at 2:00. Calling hours are from 1:00-2:00. The calling hours & memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 301 Lincoln Way E, Massillon, 44646.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Traditions Hospice, Carol Wheele, 677 H Alpha Dr, Highland Heights, OH 44143.
