Carol Sue (Stollings) Whitsit, 79, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday March 1, 2024. Carol was born September 19,1944 to the late Buster Mark and Anna Marie Stollings of Yolan, West Virgina. Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard Lee Whitsit, Son, Timothy Allen Whitsit, son-in-law, William Albert Shearer II, Brothers, Bobby Joe and Billy Ray Stollings, Sisters, Margaret Cunningham, Hellen Keffer, Mary Lou Stollings, Elizabeth Gray, and Rebecca Milam.
Carol Sue Whitsit was a dedicated wife and mother. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. Carol had a passion for singing Christian hymns, attending church, watching old TV shows and listening to country music. Carol was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will be a treasure in the hearts of many.
Carol wanted her family and friends to know she is at complete peace and was greeted in heaven by her loved ones. She hopes the memories and beautiful life she shared with you brings you laughter, comfort, and peace as you wait to join her again in heaven.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Pamela J. Harding and Kristy D. Whitsit - Shearer; grandchildren, Anthony M. Whitsit, Tyler V. Whitsit, Morgan P. Scrimager, Jason P. Harding, Mason R. Harding, and Olivia R. Harding; sister, Della Jean Handlon, many extended friends and family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at O'Riley Branson Funeral Service & Crematory (6107 S. East Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227), from 11:00am-1:00pm. Funeral services will start immediately following in the funeral home. Burial will take place at The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery in Greenwood, Indiana.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
