Age 85, of Coal City, Illinois, formerly of Carbon Hill, Illinois, passed away October 11, 2024, in her home. 

Born May 6, 1939, in Coal City, Carol Ann was a daughter of Frank and Ann (Granger) Lohmar. She was raised in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the class of 1957. Carol then went on to marry Frank Williams, on December 9, 1957, and together they shared 51 years of marriage. Carol began her working years at the Joliet Army Ammunition Plant, and later retired as a paralegal from the Department of Energy at Argon following many years of service at the age of 69. 

Carol was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Coal City, where she actively participated with the Marthas. Her dedication extended beyond the church, as she was a compassionate advocate for outpatients in the surgery department at Morris Hospital. Carol loved being part of travel groups, enjoyed the camaraderie of her two card groups, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Known for her exceptional baking skills, Carol delighted friends and family with her homemade ravioli and other culinary creations. In her spare time, she found joy in quilting and gardening, nurturing both her creativity and her love for nature. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Survivors include her two children: Debora Burger, and Donna (Jeff) Halliday, both of Coal City; three grandchildren: Justin Halliday (Maryanne Elberts), Jeffrey Halliday Jr., Tara (Marc) Campo, all of Coal City; six great grandchildren: Alex Stevens, Nathan Elberts, Courtney Elberts, Aurora Halliday, Connor Campo, and Lucy Campo; two brothers: Carl Lohmar, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and Terry (Marsha) Lohmar of Coal City; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless other friends over the years including: Mary Kay Decker, Sarah Grosvenor, and Jo Scubic. 

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; one son: Thomas Williams; and one grandson: Aaron Burger. 

The family will receive friends for a visitation at Reeves Funeral Home, 75 North Broadway Street (one block North of Illinois Route 113), in Coal City on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  

Funeral Services will follow Thursday morning October 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 195 S. Kankakee St., Coal City, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated with Rev. Josh Miller presiding and Deacon William Dunn assisting. Burial will be in Braceville - Gardner Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her late husband, Frank. 

Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey Halliday, Sr., Justin Halliday, Jeffrey Halliday, Jr., Marc Campo, and Nathan Elberts. 

Preferred Memorials may be made in Carols name to the Carbon Hill Historical Society, or to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church.
