Carol Ann Wold, 87, formerly of Moorhead, MN passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Sanford Medical Center, Bemidji, MN.
Carol was born in Thief River Falls, MN on April 30, 1937, to Carl and Hazel (Johnson) Larson. She grew up in Roseau, MN and graduated from Roseau High School in 1955.
Following high school Carol attended the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and received her diploma as a Registered Nurse. After graduation Carol worked at the University of Minnesota Heart Hospital and later accepted a position as House Supervisor at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND where she remained for 30 years until her retirement.
Carol married Donald Wold on June 27, 1959, in Bemidji, MN. They began their married life in Minneapolis before settling in Moorhead in 1968 and raising their family. Carol and Don enjoyed traveling and took family vacations every year. In retirement they continued to travel and took cruises to Hawaii, Norway, Alaska, and the Panama Canal to name a few.
Carol loved crafts and was proficient in numerous areas including, ceramics and rosemaling. She was most passionate about quilting and had several antique Singer Sewing Machines around her house. She also had a special place in her heart for Scottish Terriers.
Carol was very involved in her children’s activities and helped start the local 4-H Club. Carol also served as a State Officer for the Order of the Eastern Star for Minnesota and North Dakota and was Grand Martha for Minnesota during her time.
She is survived by her children John Wold, Ann Fulgham, David (Becca) Wold, and Steven (Gillian) Wold; grandchildren, Jared, Austin, Danielle, Alexander, Samantha; great-grandchild, Westley; siblings, Arthur (Fran) Larson, Martha (David) Sapletal, Dorothy Turner, Charles (Laurie) Larson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Don.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 2-4 p.m. with a prayer service beginning at 4:00 at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, MN.
Final resting place will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead, MN.
