Joyce K. Ellsworth, 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, in Essentia Hospital, Fargo.
Joyce Karen was born on November 27, 1946, to Julius and Leona Janke, Detroit Lakes, MN. Joyce was raised in Lake Park, where she attended high school. After high school Joyce moved to Fargo, where she worked at the Donaldson Hotel for many years. She worked there until her health prevented her from continuing to work.
Joyce enjoyed bike riding around town. She stayed very active for as long as she was able to. She had a love of music and cooking. One of her favorite meals to make was goulash. She also loved to spend time with friends and family, especially her daughter, Wanda.
Joyce is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Troy) Erdmann; grandchildren, Ashlee, Taylor, and Jadyn; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Sky, Jerzee, and Oaklee; siblings, Jeanette Gunderson, Janice (Orvis) Longtine; Julian (Connie) Janke, and Jill (Bill) Hebert, as well as her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Leona; great-grandson, Easton; siblings, Julie (Bob) Harrison, Jerome Janke, Jean (Ron) Goble, and Jerry Janke; and brother-in-law, Richard Gunderson.
A private family service will be held for Joyce.
