Carol Zimmerman

MILLERSBURG - Gladys Carol Zimmerman, age 84, of Millersburg, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Heritage Mills Personal Care with her family by her side.
She was born on March 2, 1941 in Herndon, PA the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth (Bogar) Herrold.
Carol was married to the late Richard E. Zimmerman for 46 years, who preceded her in death in 2010.
She was a 1959 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School, a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Rife, and a life-long blood donor. Carol retired from the Millersburg Area School District; a job she took great pride in, which lefter her with fond memories and cherished friends.
She enjoyed baking, canning, reading, quilting and outings, as well as phone calls with her many friends. Most of all, Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who meant the world to her.
Surviving are her daughter Kelly (Tony) Rathfon, Middle Paxton Twp., her son Kent (Jennifer) Zimmerman, Berrysburg, grandchildren Brooke Rathfon, Baylie Rathfon, Cole (Rhianna) Zimmerman and Dane Zimmerman (fiance Shanika Deibert-Fye), a sister Marjorie Hovenstine and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by brothers John, Richard, Oscar, and Thomas Herrold, and sisters Olive Trometter, Harriet Smith, Jean Walter, Ruth Trometter, Betty Snyder, and Sue Schrader.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2025 from 10-11:00 AM at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Millersburg. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Herndon Cemetery..
