Carole Lea Anderson (Schweikhard), 63, of Neodesha, KS, passed away after a valiant battle with breast cancer on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Carole was a beacon of love, strength, and creativity. She lived her life with a spirit that touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Born on April 24, 1962, in Trinidad, Colorado, to William and Mildred Schweikhard, Carole was a force of nature. Whether it was crafting something beautiful with her hands or giving of herself to others, she always found ways to bring joy and warmth to the world around her.

Carole was first and foremost a loving wife to Terry, her partner of 50 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She was a devoted mother to Freedom, Meagan, and Jacob, and a proud Mere to her grandchildren—Drake, Domitriques, Giovanni, Isaiah, Destiny, Serenity, and Chase. Her family was her heart, and she loved them fiercely.

Carole’s legacy goes far beyond her own children. She was a “Bonus Mom” to many, always ready to open her heart and home to those in need. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and she was often the first to offer a hand to those who crossed her path. Her love extended to her siblings, Ruth, Wanda, and Cecil, with whom she shared a bond of family that was unbreakable. She was also a loving aunt, daughter, and friend, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.

Though Carole faced the challenges of breast cancer with incredible courage, it was her strength in love and faith that truly defined her. She fought valiantly until her last breath, leaving behind a legacy that will be forever cherished by all who knew her.

Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Mildred, her granddaughter Mercedes, and her sister, Judy—but her spirit will never be gone.

In every piece of art she created, in every life she touched, Carole leaves behind a part of herself. Her love for life, for family, and for all those who had the privilege of knowing her will live on in the stories we share, the crafts we make, and the love we give.

A Celebration of Carole’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel. We invite all who loved her to bring a story, a memory, or a piece of Carole’s spirit to share. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Susan G. Komen organization, honoring her courage and strength in the face of breast cancer. Rest in peace, Carole. You will never be forgotten, and your love will forever light our way.
