Carole Helen (Kann) Bock, 86, of North Fort Myers, Florida (formerly of Inverness, Illinois) died surrounded by her children and grandchildren after a sudden illness on March 31st, 2025.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Smith Corcoran funeral home at 185 E Northwest Hwy, Palatine, IL 60067, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. across the parking lot at St. Theresa Church, 455 N Benton St, Palatine, IL 60067. Interment and graveside services will follow at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery, 4401 W. 111th Street Chicago, IL 60655
Carole was born December 15, 1938 in Cicero Illinois to Edgar and Helen Kann. She received her BA from St. Mary's College in Notre Dame, Indiana, and married the love of her life, Harry Bock, on June 18th, 1960.
Carole, music director at St. Cecilia Parish in Arlington Heights for over 20 years, was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. Her love and determination played a critical role in the success of Harry and her children. She was a stalwart friend, a caring adopter of friends into her extended family, and a loving and sensitive mother-in-law. Her shopping trips with Carole Ann and her granddaughters were the stuff of legends.
Carole is survived by her children Dr. James Bock (Valerie), Dr, Jerome Bock (Soomi), John Bock (Kim), and Carole Ann Dombek (John), grandchildren James Bock, Jr, Dr Stephen Bock (Rachel), Dr. Kathleen Bock (Zachary Hillmann), Melissa Anderson (Colin), Sarah Dombek, Jack Dombek, and Genevieve Bock. She leaves great-grandchildren Nolan Bock, Lucy Bock, and August Hillmann.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents, sister Arleen, and her beloved Harry, who died at her side on March 26th 2025. We know she did not want to go on without him, and so left us. We are bereft, but find joy in the knowledge they were only parted for a brief while and are now together for eternity.
