Carole Boris, 79, passed away on September 5, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was just one month shy of her 80th birthday and had recently moved to San Antonio from Lubbock, Texas, her home of almost 50 years.
She was born in Quincy, Illinois to Harry A. Konefes, Jr. and Agnes P. Seifreid. She graduated from Quincy Notre Dame High School and Mount Mary University (formerly College) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she earned a BA in English. She taught 8th grade English for several years before devoting her time to raising her two children. Later, she was a substitute teacher in the Lubbock Independent School District, where she accepted many long-term assignments. She also took some Children's Literature courses at Texas Tech University.
Carole was an avid reader and an eloquent writer. She loved crossword puzzles and Jeopardy and was next to impossible to beat in Scrabble. She lovingly tucked her children in every night with a prayer, went out of her way to attend her children's school and extracurricular activities, and equally supported her children's college sports teams by wearing UT gear during one half and A&M gear the other half.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her maternal aunts Lelia Steiner and Germaine Nungesser; and her paternal aunt Edith Hagerbaumer.
She is survived by her son, Kevin Boris, of Fanwood, NJ, and his children, Everett and Bronwyn; and by her daughter, Kristin Raimondo, her husband Brian, of Boerne, Texas and their children Preston and Sophia.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne. Service details in Lubbock, Texas and interment in Quincy, Illinois are pending and will be shared on her online obituary when updated.
