grandmother, Carole Boyd, passed away on December 5th, 2024. She was 80 years old
Carole was the heart of our family. She was born to Mildred and John Mabie of Goshen, NY on May 24, 1944. Her family was known for their commercial printing company Mabie Press Inc. in Goshen. She lovingly raised her two daughters, Renee J. Wilson and Annette H. Wilson. Carole married her late husband, Homer J. Boyd, in June of 1986. Carole loved nothing more than being a grandmother to Nicholas Wyss (Brianna) and Kasey Wyss (Austin). She will be fondly remembered as GG to her great-granddaughter, Maddison Wyss. Also surviving is her twin brother, Warren Mabie, several cousins, and many close friends.
Carole retired after her lifelong career working for several New York State court systems. Carole will be remembered for her dedication and her compassion toward her coworkers and her career. Her grandchildren fondly remember their trips with Carole to the movies, IHOP, and Pierson's Farms. Carole was an incredibly talented crocheter, and her artistic abilities were passed down to her daughters and granddaughter. Carole also enjoyed baking, gardening, and watching crime shows.
A visitation will take place at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, 130 Highland Ave. Middletown, NY on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
A Funeral Service of Remembrance will be offered at the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11:30 am. Interment will follow at Wallkill Cemetery Midway Rd. Middletown, NY
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to any animal shelter, as Carole spent much of her time at home cuddled up with her dear cat, Fiona.
