A Visitation for Carole J. Bursell, age 75, of Fairmont, MN will be held 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Carole passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 13, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carole Jeannine (Olson) Bursell was born on May 25, 1949, to Ervin and Eva (Ek) Olson in Trimont, MN. She graduated from Trimont High School.
Carole was united in marriage to Lowell (Jack) Bursell on June 30, 1973, in Trimont, MN. Carole and Jack lived in Nashville Township in rural Truman, MN until 1982 when they moved to their home outside of Fairmont. Carole worked as a housekeeper at Mayo Clinic Health Services and Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center through the years.
Carole was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. She loved animals, flower gardening, going to rummage sales and making shadow boxes with all of her miniature figurines. Her family was very special to her and she enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Lowell (Jack) Bursell of Fairmont, MN; daughter, Jessica Bursell of Fairmont, MN; son, Jason (Karie) Bursell of Jackson, MN; step-daughters, Vikki (Doug) Wilson of NM, Nellie (David) Pratt of Tucson, AZ, Janice (Gary) Metz of Madison, WI, and Denise (Gary) Martinson of Hibbing, MN; grandchildren, Riley Benton, Jack Bursell and Elijah Youngwirth-Bursell; several step-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, David and Karen Olson; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ervin and Eva Olson; son, Justin Bursell; sister, Kathleen Anderson; brother, Richard (Joan) Olson; parents-in-law, Donald and Mabel Bursell; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
