Martha R. Boomgaarden

A time for remembering and celebrating the life of Martha R. Boomgaarden, 73, of Fairmont, MN, will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Jeffers City Cemetery in Jeffers, MN. Martha passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at her home in Fairmont, MN. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Martha Rose (Kruger) Boomgaarden was born December 9, 1951, in Luverne, MN, the daughter of Donald and Jennie (Ruby) Kruger. She received her education attending school in the Minneapolis area.
Martha worked as a housekeeper and also in various industrial settings, in addition to taking on the most important role of caring for her children.
Martha was united in marriage to James Allen Boomgaarden in Pipestone, MN, and the couple made their home in Minneapolis.
Martha loved to spend time with her family and watching movies. Always on the look out for a great deal, she enjoyed thrifting and hitting up area garage sales. Martha cherished any opportunity to see her grandchildren and loved the fresh air of being outdoors. Martha never knew a stranger. Her outgoing personality made her a friend to everyone while also being willing to help those in their time of need.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Allen Boomgaarden of Fairmont, MN, Kim Gronbach of Fairmont, MN, and David Boomgaarden (Michelle Fjermestad) of Fairmont, MN; grandchildren, Jareth Boomgaarden (fiancé, Faylee Day), Shana Boomgaarden, Douglas Boomgaarden (Krystle), Robin Raymond (Kayla), Deziray Gronbach (David); great-grandchildren, Caden, Taylor, Logan, Hunter, Kaylee, Grayson, Cooper, Debbie, Dom, Brooklyn, Aubrey, and Carmon; brother, Jack (Kathy) Kruger; as well as several nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Jennie Kruger; ex-husbands, James Boomgaarden and Robert Thomas; sister, Betty Thomas; son-in-law, Larry Gronbach; brother, Ray Kruger; and other extended family.
