Carole Livingston Drazen, 84, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up on the "not so mean" streets of Flatbush. With striking beauty and a twinkle in her eye, she attended Midwood HS and mentored her younger sister, Peggy with a heaping portion of sibling affection. It was at Syracuse University where she met a handsome law student who would become her life partner. Carole married Stanton Drazen just a short time later, and they spent 57 years together.
After moving to Binghamton, NY, Carole spent two years teaching junior high school and quickly transitioned into working in the family business: Drazen's City of Fashion. Always perfectly put together, Carole served as a salesperson, buyer, and perhaps most prominently, a model for the women's clothing store for nearly 20 years.
During those years, she was actively involved as a volunteer for the Jewish Community Center, Hadassah and the local Meals on Wheels program. She was also well known for throwing boisterous dinner parties and hosting high holiday family dinners with copious amounts of food and drink.
In her later years, she and Stan moved to Palm Beach County, Florida, and while she struggled with her health, she always relished visits from her family, especially her three grandchildren.
Carole joins Stanton and her parents Shirley and Harold who pre-deceased him. She is survived by her son, Bradford Drazen and daughter-in-law, Lauren of West Hartford, CT, her three grandchildren, Noah, Maxwell and Liv who live in New York City, Los Angeles and London, respectively, and her sister Peggy Creese of Bloomfield, CT.
The family has chosen to have a private memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Drazen Family Fund at the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Hartford, 333 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06117 or the Greater Futures Scholarship Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, 10 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06106.
