Carole Virginia Hope, 82, of East Hampton passed away Monday January 6th at Middlesex Hospital. Born September 13, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary (Broome) Arnt. Carole was a retired Police Dispatcher for the East Hampton Police Department, retiring in 2009 after 30 years of service. Carole was a member of the East Hampton Congregational Church. She was an avid reader reading up to two books per week. She also enjoyed playing the piano and going out to eat. She is survived by her four sons Eric Hope of East Hampton, Douglas Hope and wife Colleen of KY, Brian Hope and wife Bonnie of OH, Stephen Hope and wife Sharon of NJ, her brother Kenneth Arnt and wife Susan of PA and her sister Vena Ackerman of PA. She also leaves her nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Spencer Funeral Home 112 Main St. East Hampton on Friday January 10th 10:00AM until 12 noon. Burial will be in the family plot in Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg, PA on Saturday at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
