Carole Machoukas Obituary
03/29/1933 - 08/03/2021
Carole Ann Machoukas, of Maumee, OH passed peacefully, August 3, 2021, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Born March 29, 1933, to Clarence and Rosina Thompson, in Cleveland Ohio. Carole married the love her life, George, in 1952. They settled, and proudly raised their four children, in Maumee Ohio, where they both would reside for the rest of their lives. Carole spent several years driving school bus for Toledo Public Schools. Known to most as "Grandma" or "GiGi," Carole spent her years in retirement, shuttling her grandkids back and forth to Lake Lavine, many trips to the Toledo Zoo, countless sunset pontoon boat rides, and rooting on her beloved Toledo Rockets!! Always welcoming a visitor with an offer of a drink, Carole beamed at the accomplishments of her loved ones, and was always first to offer any help, or encouragement. She will be sorely missed, but all that knew her, can't help but smile at the thought of her being reunited with her George. Carole is survived by her children, David (Jennifer), Tom (Cindy), Kay (Tim), and Patricia; sister, Jean Craft; grandchildren, Emily(Andrew), Adam (Julie), Ryan (Natalie), Tiffany (David), Nick (Jahnna), and Ben; great- grandchildren, Mallory, Elliot, Emerson, George, Madelyn, Noah, and Olivia. As well as her favorite Scottish Terrier, Zoey. Preceded in death, by her parents, Clarence and Rosina; husband, George; and brother, Robert. A private family service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee. If friends wish, in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made on Carole's behalf to the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave., Maumee, OH 44839.

Dave, Tom, Kay, Patty, and families. Another person of that error is gone and now we are the older generation. I treasured all the conversations that mom, dad and I had before they passed. I sure hope you had those visits. So many memories of Eastfield Drive and our neighbors. I send you all my condolences.

Carole and George were some of the sweetest people I've ever known. My Mom, Nancy and I both drove school bus with her. And they became friends with my parents. I loved them both and am so glad that Carole is reunited with Mom! Safe in the arms of Jesus.
