ELEANOR ANN MACHOUKAS

Eleanor Ann Machoukas (nee Steven), age 78 of Mayfield Hts., Ohio, passed away on February 12th, 2026, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, James Machoukas in 1997. The couple had two children Nicholas (Jacquelyn) Machoukas and Steven (Lori) Machoukas. She was the proud Gram to her "favorite five," Alysia, Alexis, James, Alanna, and Jacob.

Born on October 22, 1947, Eleanor was the youngest of four, and the only daughter of James Andrew Steven (deceased) and Eleanor Claire (nee Farinacci) Steven (deceased). Her three older brothers James (deceased) (Ann) Steven, Andrew (Rosemary) Steven, and Chuck (Barb) Steven, were always happy to remind her that she was the apple of her mother's eye. Loving wife, mother, gram, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, the number of people that she touched was without bound.

She began her teaching career after graduating cum laude from Kent State university. Returning to her alma mater, Richmond Hts. high school, she spent the next 40 years teaching mathematics, coaching the drill team, girls' softball, and ski club, and being a force in the Richmond Hts., community. Always a beloved teacher, Chouk as she was affectionately known, made numerous life-long friends with fellow teachers and students alike. Eleanor was always one to light up any room she entered. One might never know what she was going to say, but love and laughter followed her infectiously. More than anything, she loved being Gram, spending every moment she could doting on her dear grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 1-5 PM at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Avenue in Willoughby, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 23, 2026 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 29850 Euclid Avenue in Wickliffe, with interment to follow at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Hts..
