Carole Slevin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Vander Plaat Memorial Home on May 13, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Carole Slevin
Carole Slevin, (nee Brothers),75, of Toms River, formerly of Rochelle Park, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2025. Carole was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carole was the cherished wife of 48 years to William J Slevin Jr. She was treasured by her sons William F Slevin (Kate Smothers), David J Slevin, stepson William J (Vivian Torretto) Slevin III, sisters Barbara (John) Kociuba, Annette Brothers, brother Dennis (Karen) Brothers, granddaughters Jessica Slevin and Lauren Slevin, and countless cherished friends and family members. She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Helen Brothers and her sister, Janet Brothers.
Carole was the matriarch of her family and loved her family above anything else. She particularly loved her granddaughters, who made her eyes light up and her smile grow every time she saw them. Aunt Carole loved all the kids. She was the one person we could all count on and would also do anything for. She loved hosting her family and friends and brought everyone together.
Carole was an amazing baker. Her Christmas cookie trays, prepared every year with her lifelong friend Marilyn, were legendary. Carole enjoyed playing mahjong and attending yoga classes at the community center. She served as Vice President of the First Aid Auxiliary in Holiday Heights. She was quite the seamstress and would always lend her skills to make curtains or fix a hem. Carole loved vacations with her husband Bill and their friends Fran and Butch.
Carole spent her career as a trade show Exhibit Consultant. Her creative skills and endearing personality made her a natural at her craft.
Family will receive friends on Friday, May 16 2025 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Fairview Avenue, Paramus, NJ.
