James "Jimmy" Joseph Slevin, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the age of 76 in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Jim was the son of the late James Slevin and Josephine Paczkowski. He was a fantastic father, grandfather, and great grandfather - a true role model, mentor, and supporter who was always there to share life lessons with those he loved. Jim was an accomplished Elvis karaoke singer, who loved playing pool and visiting the Cherokee Casinos, paying his "Indian Tax". Family gatherings were incredibly important to him, And he never missed an opportunity to be with his loved ones and celebrate all the good in life. Known to most as "Jim", he proudly served his country in the US Army and was a dedicated member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Irene, in 2009. He is survived by his three children: Jay Slevin, Brian Slevin and his wife Karen, Michelle Miller and her husband Geoff followed by his three grandchildren: Christina, Jessica, and Ethan; and he welcomed his first great-granddaughter, Ensley Irene, named in honor of his late wife. Jim's family will be receiving friends and visitors from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel. A celebration of Jim's life will follow at the American Legion Post #178, 3950 US-17 BUS, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576 from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM.
