Carolyn A. Allard (Ferris, Wallen), 81, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend to many, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Life Care Center of Leominster, in Leominster, MA. Carolyn was born in Glens Falls, NY to the late Frederick and Dorothy (Netzel) Allard, the second of five children. She spent her formative years in Brant Lake, NY and later spent most of her adult life as a devoted mom living on the East End of Long Island, NY. After a brief time in Arizona, she relocated back to Long Island, then ultimately settling in Leominster, MA with her daughter Alecia and her family.
Carolyn was resourceful and worked her whole life to support herself and her family. She was a seamstress, waitress, bank teller, restaurant manager, nail technician, home health aide, cashier, and worked for the Catholic Guardian Society on Long Island, NY, among others. Most of all, she was a care-giver and a nurturer. She was sweet and gentle, but a fierce protector of her family and those she held dear.
Carolyn had a beautiful smile that lit up any room. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, spending time with family, going out to eat, attending local plays and theater, craft shows and fall festivals, and going to church. She loved being a pet-mom as well, to her mostly "inherited" cats and dogs (and fish and hamsters!) throughout her life.
Carolyn was predeceased by her brothers, Donald and Frederick Allard, her sister Kathleen (Bob) Dellinger, her step-daughter Carey "Bebe" LeBrun, and her grand-niece Samantha LeBrun. She is survived by her son Russell (Ellen) Ferris of Tempe, AZ, daughter Alecia (Chris) Campbell of Leominster, MA and her step-children, Jody Logan of Phoenix, AZ, Erin (Jim) Yantz of Center Moriches, NY, Lori Jo (Mark) Riedel and Michael Wallen of Phoenix, AZ, as well as her baby sister Karen (Wayne) Kittredge of Staten Island, NY. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Max and Samantha Campbell, Grace and Anna Ferris, and Susie LeBrun as well as many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends, all of whom loved her dearly. Lovingly called Nana by her grandkids, Carolyn was beautiful, brave, sweet, and funny.
Adored by all who knew her, she will be deeply missed. We take comfort in knowing that her passing was peaceful and that Heaven has gained a precious and very special angel.
Services will be held at a later date.
