It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Carolyn Angela Soren Beck, age 45, on September 1, 2025, from a tragic accident in Kuna, Idaho.
Carolyn was born on March 7, 1980 in Portland, Oregon to Ronald & Gayle Soren. As the fourth child, she was a force to be reckoned with, and she had an indomitable fighting spirit. She graduated from Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho in 1998, and soon after met the love of her life & best friend, Jared Beck. One of their first encounters led to Carolyn tackling Jared, and from that moment on he was smitten.
After a short courtship, they married on February 6, 1999 in the Boise LDS temple. They lived in Meridian for a few years before purchasing their dream property in Kuna, Idaho in 2005. It was there that they built a beautiful life together, taking on dogs, cows, chickens, gardening, etc. Their lives became complete when they welcomed in three children; Ashlee Rae in 2005, Brooklyn Kate in 2007, and Carson Reed in 2012.
The family loved adventuring together and could often be found dirt biking, hiking, backpacking, camping, playing in the water, etc. They played hard and often. Carolyn's happiest moments and greatest joys were found with Jared and their children in the outdoors.
She was known for her ability to plan an incredible party or gathering for a crowd on the drop of a dime and would do so with a fantastic flair. She created a beautiful and loving home and touched every part of it with her creative eye for finding beauty around her. She had one of the most beautiful smiles that would light up her entire face and it did most frequently for her family. She had an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and a talent for storytelling. She was also known for giving some of the greatest healing hugs ever.
Carolyn had a strong testimony of the Savior and of eternal families, and served in many capacities for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She touched many lives throughout her callings in Young Women's, Relief Society, Primary, and Girls Camp.
She fiercely loved Jared, Ashlee, Brooklyn, and Carson with her whole soul and was so proud of each of them. It is not an understatement to say that she lived for her family and was most proud of being their mom and Jared's wife. She leaves a hole in the hearts of those that knew and loved her and will be sorely missed by all of them.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert Keith and Mary Lou Shaw, Lottie Burnett, and Owen Leon Soren. She is survived by her soulmate, Jared Beck, her adored children Ashlee, Brooklyn and Carson, her parents, Ronald & Gayle Soren, and in-laws (David & Bonnie Beck), and her eight siblings, Owen, Janel Soren (Charles Budd), Alyson (Jeremy) Woodland, Jaron (Lindsey) Soren, Camille (Daniel) Borup, Shawn (Emily) Soren, Kayleena (Cameron), and Mariah (Connor) Ashment. Also mourning her are many brothers and sisters in law, and dozens of nieces & nephews. Carolyn will forever be missed.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center at 8625 S. Linder Rd in Kuna, Idaho. The public viewings will be on Thursday, September 4, from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 9-9:45. There will be a graveside service at the Kuna cemetery following the funeral.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the many first responders, emergency personnel and others who helped with the recovery effort, and especially those individuals who showed such love and compassion to a family who is suffering. Thank you. Donations to help the family with expenses as they navigate this unknown territory can be made to Jared's Venmo at @jared-beck-13
