It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn Bunny Boone Crow on November, 6th 2025. Born on February 25th, 1950, she was the daughter of Wheeler Bunny Boone and Dorothy Tart Jackson, both of whom have preceded her in death.
Carolyn was born and raised in Lexington. Although she was intensely proud of her Kentucky roots, her unbounded character led her to live and work in many places across the country. She attained a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from the University of Oregon and a Master's Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Much of her professional career was spent in the Southwest where she ran her own computer programming business and served as an adjunct professor at several junior colleges.
Carolyn was the proud mother of Hugh Crow, whom she cherished. She treasured time spent with her son and family in her beloved home in New Mexico. Her dauntless will, intelligence, and wit gave her an unmistakable presence to those around her.
Carolyn possessed a clear strength and steadfastness that shone through in both achievement and adversity. She was a generous gift giver. Carolyn was an avid gardener and loved arts and crafts of all kinds. The last years of her life were spent in devotion to her granddaughter Eleanor.
Carolyn is survived by son Hugh Charles Crow, her granddaughter Eleanor Charlotte Crow, her sisters Beverly Marye, Sherry Price, Dianne Fields, and her brother Joseph Jackson. She was preceded by her parents and brother Wheeler "Chip" Boone.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday November, 22nd 2025 to celebrate and honor Carolyn's memory from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Care Cremation Chapel 1304 Bryan Avenue Lexington, KY 40505. Friends and family are invited to gather. Flowers were a favorite of Carolyn's, and guests are encouraged to offer them. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Lexington Humane Society or Bluegrass Care Navigators Hospice.
