Carolyn L. S. Boulware, 83, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. Born on September 13, 1941, in Norfolk to Pearl Elizabeth Perkins and Romus Smith, Carolyn lived a life marked by compassion, resilience, and service to others.

Carolyn dedicated 40 years to nursing, first serving as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 12 years before becoming a Nurse Practitioner-a role she held for another 28 years with grace, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to patient care. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her deep empathy and nurturing spirit.

She was an active member of the Peace Worship Center, where her faith and generosity led her to volunteer regularly, helping to feed the homeless. Her devotion to community service was matched by her long-standing membership with the Eastern Star, where she found fellowship and purpose.

In her later years, Carolyn found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished her time at the YMCA Silver Sneakers classes, loved to read, and was especially fond of watching nostalgic movies-particularly episodes of Star Trek, which brought her great comfort and nostalgia.

Carolyn is survived by her loving daughter, Ebony Boulware, and her cherished granddaughter, Nahijia Boulware. She also leaves behind her siblings, Denise Solomon, Thomas Perkins, Michael Perkins, and Kevin Perkins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and laughter.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, David Boulware; her mother, Pearl Elizabeth Perkins; father, Romus Smith; nephews Larry Solomon Jr. and Joseph Randolph Wilson; and brother-in-law Larry Solomon Sr.

Though no services are scheduled at this time, Carolyn's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her life was a quiet testament to strength, kindness, and love-and she will be deeply missed.
