Carolyn Ann Buckerfield

Carolyn Buckerfield (Newburn), age 69, passed away on October 9, 2025, in Vallejo, California. Born on August 24, 1956, in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. Carolyn lived a life marked by generosity, resilience, and an unmistakable sense of humor that brough joy to those around her. Carolyn was well known in Vallejo, California as she worked at the American Canyon Café many years and moved around her community befriending and helping many people.
Carolyn was the beloved daughter of Janet Newburn (Rouse) and the late Richard Newburn. She grew up alongside her sisters Peggy Newburn and Debbie Newburn.
Carolyn leaves behind her children: Son Craig Kranz; daughters Melissa Buckels (Kranz) and her husband Bobby Buckels; and Amy Bisson. She was also a loving Grandmother to Clay Bess and Grace Bess.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Richard Newburn, and her son John Masters (Gravel) Jr., whose memories she carried close to her heart.
Carolyn will be remembered for her boundless kindness – she would give you the shirt off her back without hesitation. Her independence was matched only by her wit; she had a sharp sense of humor laced with just the right amount of sarcasm that could light up any room. Beneath it all was a heart of gold that touched countless lives.
