Mrs. Carolyn Carr

Visitation Monday April, 28, 2025 from 4-7pm at Estep Brothers Funeral Service, P.A. 1300 Eutaw Place, Baltimore, Maryland 21217.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 10-1030am with service to follow in Chapel of Estep Brothers Funeral Service.
Carolyn Ann Goodwyn Carr was born December 27, 1944, in Petersburg, Virginia, to the late Robert W. Goodwyn, Sr., and the late Margaret Lee Goodwyn. Carolyn passed from death to life on Good Friday morning, April 18, 2025.
The family moved to Baltimore in 1947. Carolyn received her formal education in the public school system in Baltimore and graduated from Frederick Douglass High School.
She was employed by the Baltimore City Public School System as a Para-educator until her retirement.
She was married on April 25, 1966, to the late Charles Wayman Carr. From this union came two sons, Anthony Wayman Carr and Tyrone Wayman Carr.
Carolyn loved music, dancing, cooking, and having fun at family gatherings. She enjoyed travelling the country with family and friends. She was considered a "tomboy" and wouldn't hesitate to defend her siblings. She liked movies, roller skating, and street skating. She was a loving and devoted mother and friend. Whatever she did was always from her heart.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her life: her sons, Anthony Wayman Carr, Tyrone Wayman Carr (preceded her in death); her sister, Barbara Jones; sister, Shirley Way (preceded her in death); brother-in-law, Grant Way, Jr.; sister, Peggy Goodwyn (preceded her in death); brothers, Robert W. Goodwyn, Jr. (wife, Joanne), Rudolph Smith (wife, Cheryl), Rudon Smith; lifelong friend, Gwendolyn Brown Tillery and neighbors from her last home address; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
