Carolyn Thelma (Kearns) Dankenbring, age 81, of Belding, passed away peacefully under hospice care at home surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2024. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, on June 7, 1943, attended Detroit area schools and worked throughout her life in nursing care including many years of service with Lowell Medical Care Center. Carolyn enjoyed crocheting and knitting and attended church faithfully. She also loved to travel, but above all loved her dear children and grandchildren. She married Kenneth Gregory and later, married Gerald Dankenbring, both of whom preceded her in death. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Memories of Carolyn will be cherished by her loving children, Tammy Whorley, Margo (Jeff) Valenta, Kenneth (Stacy) Gregory and Mark Gregory; grandchildren, Mike Whorley, Cenni Becher, Stephanie Holsclaw, Scott Gregory, Stacey Goff, Brian Gregory, Logan Gregory, Brooklyn Gregory and Lauren Gregory; great grandchildren Bentley and Paisleigh; sisters Karen and Margo; and many nieces nephews and cousins. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Leonard Kearns and Gerald Kearns.
Visitation and Funeral Services will take place at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge Street, Belding on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, with Pastor Bill Overton officiating. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. and the Service starts at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Orleans Township Cemetery.
