Carolyn Davis Obituary

Seattle - Carolyn Kristine Davis was born May 8, 1969, in Seattle, the first grandchild to Frances and Wendell Leander of Mount Vernon and Maurice and Marguerite Davis of Sedro Woolley and to her parents, Kristi Leander and Norman Davis. Carolyn was educated in the Seattle Public Schools until her senior year of high school, which she spent in Trondheim, Norway. She graduated from Scripps College with a degree in economics and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Her career in commercial real estate started with Cushman & Wakefield, and then she was with CBRE for 20 years. In her role as an associate research director, she was acclaimed for being a leader and mentor to many in her network, and widely appreciated for making a difference in people's lives. Carolyn was also active at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Ballard, making friends of all ages and offering skills from financial management to brewing coffee. She was an intrepid traveler to distant places, but she also loved her home, her family, her neighbors and the Pacific Northwest.

Her diagnosis of bile duct cancer in early 2024 at age 55 was a blow to her, her family and her friends, but with Carolyn's typical grace, she fought it with courage and determination. Ultimately, she taught us lessons in dying. She passed from this life on June 25, 2025. She is survived by her mother, Kristine Leander; her father and stepmother, Norman and Beverly Davis; her sisters Anne-Marie Davis (Ben Fitzpatrick) and Jana Davis (Ryan Brady); and numerous nieces, a nephew, aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial for Carolyn will be held Saturday, July 26, at 2 p.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church (2400 NW 85th St., Seattle, 98117).
