Carolyn Yoder Deupree, of Metairie, LA, departed this life July 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Thomas Wayne Deupree Jr., by her father, Paul H. Yoder, her mother, Mary (Mamie) Green Yoder, and brothers Paul J. Yoder and Michael N. Yoder. Carolyn was born in New Orleans in 1934 and grew up in the Carrollton area, where she made her first communion, was confirmed, and married in Mater Dolorosa Church. In 1967 Carolyn and Wayne built their home in Metairie, where they contributed to the establishment of St. Clement of Rome Church.
She leaves behind her "sister of the heart" Olive K. Gorman, and sisters-in-law Patricia B. Yoder, of California, Elsa Yoder of Des Allemands, LA, Helen D. Brandon of Memphis, TN, and Nati Deupree, of Florida. Also nieces Yvonne Koenigsberg (Alan), Leslie Roden (Gary), Emily Kanalz (Hank), Maria Arndt (Brian), Mary Naquin (Blake), and Paula Yoder Anweiler. Also nephews Ray Brandon (Dana), Denby Brandon III (Sarah), Robert Deupree (Sharon), and Michael N. Yoder Jr. Also dear friends, Vonceil Stringer and Jude and Frank Raab.
Carolyn was grateful to Michael Zabalaoui, of Creative Planning, for his wisdom, guidance and friendship for the past 30 years. Also, Cynthia Narcisse, of Home Instead, for her help, friendship, and comfort at a critical time in her life. Carolyn deeply appreciated the love and support from her niece, Mary Naquin, when Carolyn was diagnosed with pancreatic and lung cancer. Also the generosity of her niece, Leslie Roden, who came from her home in Tennessee to help care for Carolyn at the end.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street in New Orleans, on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Visitation will begin at 11:00AM., followed by a service celebrating Carolyn's life at 12:00PM. In honoring her life, we gather not only in grief, but in gratitude for the love she gave, the faith she lived, and the grace she carried through this world.
