Carolyn Mae Dick (Nederhoed) passed away at Munson Medical Center of Traverse City on November 11, 2025 at the age of 84 from stroke complications. Carolyn was born on June 21, 1941 in Aetna Township to Albert and Henrietta (Marcusse) Nederhoed.
Carolyn will be most remembered for her love of fishing, bowling, playing cards, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. She graduated from Northern Michigan Christian School.
Carolyn and her husband owned and operated Duane's Family Restaurant in Falmouth for 28 years where she was known for her hard work ethic and love of cooking. Carolyn had a humble and selfless nature. Her strong Christian values were evident in how she lived her daily life. Carolyn was a lifelong member of Prosper Christian Reformed Church. After retirement, she volunteered at Friends Ministry.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband Duane of 65 years; four daughters Kim (Bob), Brenda (Dan), Tam (Steve), and Sandy (Chuck); 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Henrietta Nederhoed, her brothers Russ and Brad, sister-in-law Ruth, and granddaughters Ashley and Emma.
Funeral services will be at Prosper Christian Reformed Church on Friday, November 14 at 11am, with Rev. Dirk Koetje and Pastor Mitchell Leach officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5PM-7PM at the church and one hour prior to the service on Friday. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Private family burial will follow at Falmouth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Northern Michigan Christian School.
