Carolyn S. Garofalo

Carolyn S. Garofalo, age 93, of Elmhurst, formerly of Florida, beloved wife of the late Mauro; loving mother of Michael (Julie), Thomas (Susan), Maureen (David) Leali, Colleen Topper; proud grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 19; dear Sister of David, Jane and Patricia and the late Mary Lou, Nancy, and Marjorie; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was a loving Wife and Mother, an X-Ray technician and a Supreme Tennis Player and Coach. Her tennis career reached into her 80s and she won many championships. Her Coaching career was stellar, as she taught all ages and provided her athletes the foundation to enjoy and excel at the sport of tennis. Carolyn was a force of nature. Her upbringing instilled her values, her points of view and her life view. One of her many sayings was: "I do not need a Smartphone….my common sense is all that I require". Carolyn was a self-taught cook and baker. She received cooking hints and recipes along that way that she tweaked and made her own. She reveled in cooking and baking for her Family and loved cooking and baking for her Dinner Parties. After many a day was done for Carolyn, she toped it off with a bowl of ice cream and her famous hot fudge!! Family and Friends and family will meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 3, 2025 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 134 Arthur Street, Elmhurst. Interment Private.
