Muriel McAuliffe Rooney, nee Mackel, longtime resident of Western Springs, currently of Lagrange Park; dedicated volunteer and Board Member, Misericordia Heart of Mercy, active parishioner at St John of the Cross and strong supporter of St. Vincent De Paul Society; beloved wife of the late Donald McAuliffe and the late Robert Rooney; loving mother of Michelle (the late Mick) Hamilton, Susan (Brian) Farrell, Patricia (the late John) Powers and Margaret (Dan) Schuld and step-mother of Rob (Linda) Rooney, Tim (Kim) Rooney, Elizabeth Rooney, Joe (fiancé Karen) Rooney, John (Anna) Rooney, Mary (Bob) Hogan, Sheila (Craig) Schneider and Randi Rooney; proud grandmother of 34 and great-grandmother of 28; dear sister of Karen (Tom) Murphy and George Mackel.
