John W. "Jack" Egan

John W. "Jack" Egan, It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John W. "Jack" Egan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and esteemed professional, who left us on October 24, 2025 in home hospice, at the age of 79.

Jack's devotion to his family and his work defined his remarkable life. Through the Catholic Alumni Club, he met his wife of 42 years, Mary Sue, née Skala, and lifelong friends. Together, Jack and Mary Sue built a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to their children and grandchildren.

Jack is survived by his four children, William Egan, Norine (Gabe) Youel, Rosaleen (Kyle) Van Der Aa and Edward R. Egan. He was the proud grandfather of Wade, Vivian, and Everett Youel and Lila and Samuel Van Der Aa.

Jack was also the cherished brother of James Egan, Joanne (Dick) Schickel, Kathy (John Brundage) Egan, Mary (Frank Navarrete) Egan and Edward J. (Ward Wilson) Egan. He was the celebrated uncle and cousin of many.

Jack grew up in Berwyn, IL. He was a proud graduate of Campion High School in Prairie du Chien, WI and Xavier University in Cincinnati, OH. He went on to earn a Masters from Fordham and a JD from Northwestern.

Professionally, Jack dedicated his considerable skills for over 40 years at McKenna Storer and Egan & Egan as both a lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant. He built a reputation for his integrity, sharp mind, and dedication to his clients. His colleagues and clients alike admired his work ethic and unwavering professionalism.

He was a man of integrity, loyalty, and wisdom, whose legacy will live on through the lives of his family, friends, and colleagues. Jack, you will be forever missed and always remembered with love.
