Carolyn V. Kelsey, 95, entered into rest on November 5, 2025. Carolyn passed away peacefully, in her home, where she lived for 65 years.

Carolyn was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Burris and Archibald McMurphy; her parents, Elmer and Virginia Crooks; her husband, Myron E. Kelsey; her brother, Donald E. Crooks; her sister-in-law, Grace Crooks; her daughter, Audrey C. Kriegshauser; and her favorite cousin, Mary Spicer.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Howard M. Kelsey; son, Warren L. Kelsey, and his wife, Dianna Kelsey; son-in-law, Michael A. Kriegshauser; grandson, Michael P. Kriegshauser, and his wife, Jessica Kriegshauser; granddaughter, Kathleen Kriegshauser; granddaughter, Sarah Wilson, and her husband, Andrew Wilson; granddaughter, Angelica Benitez, and her husband, Timothy Benitez; grandson, Alexander Kelsey; nephew, Jeffrey Crooks, and his wife Chrysanthy Crooks; and niece, Sheila Jennette; as well as eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

Carolyn was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 7, 1930. She attended Seaman High School and received her Degree in Education from Ottawa University.

Carolyn and Myron were wed on August 24th,1952 at North Topeka Baptist Church, and relocated to Kansas City in 1955.

Carolyn and her family joined Fairview Christian Church in 1959, where she served as an elder, taught Sunday school, was a member of the CWF, and served as treasurer.

Carolyn volunteered for The Clay County Clothes Closet for 55 years, and was a member of Chattering Chics, (Missouri Association for Family & Community Education) since 1958.

Carolyn was a skilled quilter, and gifted many handmade quilts to beloved family members, as well as donating others to raise money for her charities.

Carolyn‘s most favorite thing was attending multiple McMurphy family reunions across the nation where she shared fellowship with cousins and all the descendants of her grandparents.

Funeral service will take place at Fairview Christian Church: 1800 NE 65th St, Kansas City, MO, on Monday, November 24. Visitation from 11 AM to Noon, followed by the service. Private graveside interment at Terrace Park Funeral Home & Cemetery, at 3 PM.
