Carolyn Kerr

Carolyn (Rowe) Kerr passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center Hospital. She was born on May 3, 1962, in Frankfort, KY, the daughter of Robert Wilson and Sarah (Scott) Rowe. After graduating from Franklin County High School in 1980, she attended Eastern Kentucky University and earned a bachelor's degree in nursing.
She started her career as a critical care nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and worked at other Lexington hospitals. She was later employed as an RN in the private health care industry, Kentucky state government and eventually retiring from the Department for Medicaid Services.
She is survived by her loving husband, Andy Kerr, a brother, Robert Scott Rowe (Vicki), Richmond, Kentucky, a sister, Evelyn McGill (Pat), Meadville, PA, and two sons, Eric Breckel (Meri) and Kyle Breckel (Stephanie).
In recent years, she has been blessed with a granddaughter, Emmi Breckel, and she anticipated with great joy the arrival of a second grandchild in late April.
Carolyn kept up with family members and will be missed by her Hall relatives, Aunt Betsy, Uncle Wayne, cousins Cindy and Steven (Claudia).
Her friend Philomena wrote the greatest tribute to Carolyn: "I'm a widow with three kids, and she has been a solid rock in my life. She was an amazing woman, and an angel of God sent to me. "

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.
