Canandaigua - Carolyn Regina Kevin, age 89, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Herbert Kevin and stepson, Michael Kevin. Mrs. Kevin is survived by her brother, Paul (Susan) Abendroth; five children, Glen (Pam) Bierworth, Brenda (Peter) Rizzo, Susan (Doug) Benoit, Linda (Craig) Dowling, Mark Bierworth and Julie (Richard) Spinelli; daughter-in- law, Shelley Kevin; twelve grandchildren, Renee (Jon Michael) Lacek, Amanda (Michael) Sargent, James (Lexie) Benoit, Paul Bierworth, Olivia Bierworth, Keren Bierworth, Natalie Dowling, Lea Rizzo, Jason (Theresa) Rizzo, Andrea Kevin, Stephanie (Harrison) Supnick and Jessica Kevin; six great-grandchildren, Collin O'Malley, Blair Lacek, Lauren Lacek, Clayton Benoit, Lorraine Benoit and Maximus Sargent. She will be greatly missed by her nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Carolyn was born in Rochester in 1936 and was the daughter of Karl and Elinor (Gordon) Abendroth. She was a graduate of Nazareth University, majoring in Special Education and Sociology. Carolyn taught special education at Holley High School for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She changed the lives of those who needed extra help in their educational pursuits. Her skillful guidance helped many students achieve a fulfilling and successful life.

Carolyn enjoyed natures beauty. She loved flowers, plants and blooming trees. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a voracious reader and was given the gift of creativity in painting and drawing. Through her love of the Lord, Carolyn touched many people with her generosity, kindness and friendship.
