Carolyn Brown McLeod, 72, of Wade, Mississippi, was called home by our Lord and Savior on November 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents, William Clarence and Sallie Elizabeth Brown; siblings, baby girl Brown, Hubert Brown, Billy Brown, Truman Brown, Naomi Hudson, Mae Flurry, Margaret Mathis, and Sandra Mathis.
She is survived by her husband, Ricky McLeod; son, Brian (Angela); daughter, Amy (Philip); granddaughter, Kristina (Bill); great granddaughters, Sarah and Emily; brothers, DWayne Brown, Richard (Katie Jo) Brown, and Kaye (Glendon) Hudson; numerous nieces, nephews, family, friends, and church family.
Carolyn fought a short but hard battle with an aggressive form of MDS. She lived her life with quiet dignity and strength. She faced her illness with the same grace and determination.
Carolyn loved to volunteer her time to many causes over the years from a parent volunteer at East Central Elementary School, Friends of the Library, Sunday School teacher, MYF director, church treasurer, and other groups. She was a proud member of Salem Methodist Church. She was the historian for the church and Salem Campground.
She loved to take care of others before herself. Her hobbies included traveling, cooking, reading, gardening, and researching genealogy.
She was married to the love of her life just shy of 52 years by two weeks. He was her whole world. You couldn't mention one without the other.
Carolyn will be truly missed. She touched the hearts and lives of so many people over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations to be made to Salem Methodist Church.
The Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Salem Methodist Church from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Reverend Andy Cotton and Pastor Gilbert White officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. Pallbearers include Mathew McLeod, B.J. Fortner, Shawn Hudson, Mike Brown, Randy Mathis, Claibourn Mathis. Honorary pallbearers are Billy McLeod and Tommy Mathis.
Moments Funeral Home, locally owned and operated, is honored to be in charge of arrangements.
